New Zealand
New Zealand is an island country located around 1,500 kilometers east of Australia. The size is close to the size of Japan, but with a population of around 4.5 million, there is plenty of space for everyone.
The most widely spoken language in New Zealand is English. The capital city is Wellington, but its most populous city is Auckland. Both of these cities are very nice to live in; Auckland was recently ranked as the world’s 4th most liveable city, and Wellington the 12th, by the Mercer Quality of Life Survey. This helps to explain why New Zealand has been a destination for so many educated professionals from Europe, and elsewhere in the world.
When we say that New Zealand is a friendly, open country, we mean it. In 1893, New Zealand became the first country on the planet to give all women the right to vote. And between March 2005, and August 2006, New Zealand became the only country in the world in which every single one of the highest political offices in the government- the Head of State, Governor General, Prime Minister, Speaker, and Chief Justice- were all held by women, at the same time! Based on the Corruptions Perception Index, New Zealand is one of the two least corrupt countries in the whole world, and New Zealand is the fourth most peaceful country in the world, according to the 2014 Global Peace Index.
New Zealand is a friendly, open, welcoming place, with spectacular natural beauty.
